About Farmer Browns

Our History

Farmer Browns was born out of a love of fresh food and produce. And with our very successful Browns Restaurant behind us, it seemed to Kirsty and Derek Stewart-Brown that the only way to expand was to offer a wider range of produce to a wider range of customers.

Along with Head Chef, Derek Mather, we have come up with a range of Scottish produce that we like to think of as a wee bit unique in culinary circles. It's a constantly changing menu, where we will add produce and dishes as we find them.

Browns restaurant Pate is an example of one of our success stories. Based on chicken livers, our Head Chef keeps his recipe so secret that even Kirsty and Derek don't know all that this smooth delightful dish contains.
But we do know that our restaurant customers love it. So much, that most nights, a few customers insist on taking a tub home with them. And they usually ask for a big portion of Onion Jam to go along with it. Just add rough Orkney oatcakes for a supper snack that you just can't equal.
